COHORT 2
August 29th, 2022 - August 16th, 2024

As a member of FAMM’s Apostolic Mobilization Residency, you will go through a two-year course of study with other believers who have similar callings on their lives. You will be doing life together, learning key concepts and skills, discussing deep and meaningful questions, sowing the gospel abundantly, starting story groups, and making disciples. The goal at the end of the program is that each participant will be ready to start or join a Kingdom Movement as an apostolic leader in their respective harvest fields, whether among the unreached (for residents) or in their cities (for partner churches).

CLASSES

Throughout the Residency, we will navigate three courses of study: a Kingdom Theology track, a Kingdom Movement track, and a Kingdom Missiology track.

These classes will be Tuesday nights from 7:30-10:00 pm at the FAMM headquarters in Houston, TX. Each class will be divided into two one-hour sessions where we will learn, discuss, and apply a particular topic or skill from the three tracks.

(Partner churches will be able to attend classes virtually.)

Kingdom Theology - 64 hours

As citizens of and ambassadors of the Kingdom of God, we need to understand what His Kingdom is. Without the foundation of a solid Kingdom Theology, we will be ineffective in ministry and easily discouraged by opposition. Therefore, we will build a biblical theology of the Kingdom by studying the Bible and primary texts in order to apply it to our doctrine, strategy, and practice and to bring about Kingdom Movements among the unreached.

Kingdom Movement - 92 hours

In this track, we will be diving into the practical, boots-on-the-ground side of Kingdom Movements. We will hone in on the particular strategies and tactics FAMM uses to initiate, nurture, and facilitate disciple-making movements among the unreached that lead to biblical church planting.

Kingdom Missiology - 32 hours

This track will unpack four topics central to the study of missions: communication, leadership, cultural anthropology, and biblical ministry. The goal is to ensure that participants are equipped and empowered to walk alongside local leaders, make disciple-makers, and develop apostolic teams.

EXPECTATIONS

The Apostolic Missions Residency is a significant commitment. It is not a crash course or summer intensive. It will require about 15-20 hours a week from all cohort participants. With that commitment come some theological, experiential, and practical expectations:

Abiding in Christ is an absolute necessity for each participant. We can only pour into others if our own well has been filled by the Spirit with living water. Each participant is expected to practice daily the spiritual disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, repentance, and worship. In addition, participants will be required to come to each class prepared, having read, wrestled with, and meditated on the assigned material.

Theological

Flexibility is key as we build out tailored experiences for each participant in line with their calling, gifting, and role. These experiences will be a chance to "see it, learn it, and do it" alongside a FAMM leader. Participants will be expected to create margin within their lives in order to gain the experience necessary for their Kingdom Movement opportunities. (FAMM will work with you to schedule these at the best possible time for all involved.)

Experiential

Using in the field what we are learning in the classroom is key to the Apostolic Mobilization Residency. The United States is a much safer place to practice new skills and make mistakes than harvest fields around the world. This means that all participants will be expected to be out in the harvest fields of their neighborhoods for at least 5 hours a week.
